Ad Solem is a student-run auditioned chamber choir based at the University of Manchester as part of the Manchester University Music Society. We open auditions every year for new members. The choir enjoys singing an eclectic range of music, regularly performing around the North West of England. Ad Solem have also been on tours including Madrid and Krakov. Recent performances include collaborations with the Hallé and an appearance on the BBC’s Songs of Praise. Each term, the choir performs in the Martin Harris Centre for Music and Drama, which is also where we are based for rehearsals, which are 1900-2100 on Wednesdays
The choir’s is directed by Robert Guy, alongside student conductors Anna Beresford, Alastair McNamara, Matthew Quinn and Robin Wallington.
The next Ad Solem Concert is on 16th November at 6.30pm, in St Ann's Church, as part of the New Music North West festival, and will feature new works by Mark Anthony Turnage and Camden Reeves.
