Welcome to the Manchester University Music Society (MUMS). With around 450 members joining and over 50 concerts every year, we are the largest student-led music society in the country. We have a diverse range of ensembles, an ever-growing outreach team, a fantastic conducting program, and plenty of MUMS socials throughout the year; there's something for everyone! MUMS have scheduled another ‘New Sounds from Manchester’ concert for Friday 16th March 2018, as part of the MUMS Public Lunchtime Concert Series. All undergraduate and postgraduate students are invited to submit a composition that if chosen will be performed in this concert.

MUMS are delighted to announce TWO opportunities for NEW student works to be performed in next semesters Chamber Concert (17th February 2018). These works will be in the first half of the concert alongside Hussey’s ‘Twisted Skyscape’ Details for the works are as follows:

Auditions for the MUMS Opera Evening will be held November 12th (this coming Sunday) from 10:40 to 14:00 in the Martin Harris Centre!

We have some very exciting news: the opera for this year has been decided! In February 2018 MUMS will be performing an evening of opera including opera scenes, James Keirle’s Not on the List and Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas.
